Adelaide Showground Farmers Market
The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market will run two additional Twilight Markets for shoppers for the festive season. There will be a Twilight Market on Thursday 22nd December from 4pm-8pm so that shoppers can buy all the produce they need for Christmas. There will also be a Twilight Market on Thursday 29th December from 4pm-8pm to allow South Australians to buy SA produce for their New Year’s celebrations.
Shoppers can expect all the regular Market stallholders with fabulous fresh South Australian produce. They can also look forward to extra Christmas treats in December such as mince pies, rich Christmas cake and German Stollen from stallholder Chocoholics Synonymous; a Christmas pudding-flavoured chocolate made with currants, calvados and gingerbread spice from Steven ter Horst Chocolatier; plus wonderful gingerbread houses and gingerbread Christmas trees from Perryman’s of North Adelaide. Stallholders Hahndorf Gourmet, San Jose Smallgoods and Minniribbie Berkshire Pig Farm are currently taking orders for Christmas hams and Inman Valley Poultry is taking orders for free-range chooks and ducks to make your Christmas lunch taste even better. Shoppers wanting seafood for their Christmas day celebrations can get wild, hand-picked scallops from Polacco Family Scallops and Sea Urchins, award-winning mussels from Kinkawooka Mussels and sustainable fish from Coorong Wild Seafood.
For those who are looking for Christmas gifts, gift memberships to the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market are available for $62. Members receive 10% off all purchases at the Market, as well as other
benefits such as the opportunity to go into the draw for a weekly prize. The membership runs from now until 31st December 2012. A gift membership can also be coupled with a Market car park card for an extra $37.50. For those wanting to put together a Christmas hamper, many stallholders are selling Christmas gift packs, such as finger-food specialist Bubble ‘n’ Squeak who is selling gourmet gift packs and winemakers Howard Vineyard who is selling a three pack of their 2010 Sparkling Brut, 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and 2010
Cabernet Franc Rose at 20% off the regular retail price. Stallholder Wild Fox Wines will be selling a six-pack of piccolo-sized varieties for $35, with 10% discount for ASFM members.
The ASFM Kids’ Club will be celebrating Christmas with guest chefs from the Hilton Hotel’s Brasserie Restaurant on Sunday 18th December. The Christmas party will also include a visit from a very special resident of the North Pole.
The Market will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
