AEEC a hit with the pram-set

From family-focused markets to pregnancy expos and parenting exhibitions, the Adelaide Showground is fast becoming the preferred venue for family-friendly events in Adelaide.
Since 2005 at the Showground, the pioneering Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo returns in 2012 (March 16-18), promising to offer expert advice, parenting tips and the latest products related to pregnancy, babies and children. This event was introduced by Greg & Julie Rocke in Adelaide and is now presented in all Australian mainland states. It remains the only national exhibition organised from Adelaide
Two new events – Mum’s, Bubs and Beyond and Mummy Tree Markets – have been announced for the Showground, joining the popular Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo and the Fringe Family Weekend in March.
Sales Manager Sandra Klein said the Adelaide Showground’s accessibility, car parking, spacious lay-out and high-quality parenting facilities made it appealing to events that targeted the family market.
“Parents with young children are more likely to attend an event if they don’t need to worry about things like car parking, whether there are baby change facilities and whether the event is being held in a family-friendly environment,” says Sandra.
“The Adelaide Showground offers all this and more and, because the venue is already well-known as a hub for families due to the Royal Adelaide Show, it’s a logical choice for event organisers.”
One company that has recognised the Adelaide Showground’s appeal to families is Everything Exhibitions and Events.   The organisers of the popular Bridal Ideas events, they will bring their new exhibition – Mum’s Bubs and Beyond – to the Showground from November 2 to 4. Billed as a one-stop shop for both new and existing parents, the event will have information and exhibitors on all aspects of raising a child.
Also new to the Showground are the Mummy Tree Markets – a high-quality lifestyle market featuring handmade goods, hard-to-find products, gourmet food, children’s arts and entertainment. First held in Brisbane, the Adelaide markets are being organised by successful local work-at-home mums Kelly Wagner and Amanda Lillywhite.
“We’ve been following the success of the Mummy Tree Markets since it was launched in Queensland a year ago, and we love the way it operates,” say Kelly and Amanda.
“Adelaide families are more than ready for a boutique lifestyle market that is truly designed for the whole family.”
The inaugural Mummy Tree Market will be held on December 4 from 10am to 3pm in the Stirling Angas Pavilion. Six markets are planned for 2012.
