Social Responsibility

With a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, supporting the community and helping those less fortunate than us, the Adelaide Showground is a responsible member of the Australian business community.

About the Adelaide Showground

We are owned and managed by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society (RA&HS)
– a not-for-profit community organisation that promotes excellence in primary industry through
initiatives such as the Royal Adelaide Show and Royal Adelaide Wine Show.

The Adelaide Showground – through the RA&HS – supports several community groups,
including the Red Cross and Country Women’s Association, and each year provides thousands of
free Royal Show tickets to community organisations. Staff also support specific community events and
conduct fundraising activities for their preferred charity.

Focussed on the Environment

Protecting and preserving our environment is also a strong focus at the Adelaide Showground. Following the development of the eco-friendly Goyder Pavilion in 2008, the venue is on-track to becoming energy and water neutral. In fact, the Adelaide Showground is home to one of the largest solar panel installations in Australia and a 3.5-million litre underground water tank which captures stormwater run-off.
